How do I get the app and create an account?
Golf Group Admin is free on the App Store and Google Play, and on the web in any browser. Open it, choose Create your account, then Personal, and fill in your details. We email you a 6-digit code to confirm your address. New accounts get a free 30-day trial of the Player Tier.

How do I join a golf group?
Ask your group's organizer for the group's join code. In the app or on the web, choose Join a group and type the code, or scan the group's QR code with your phone. Your organizer can also add you or send you an email invitation. Once you're in, your group appears whenever you sign in.

How do I start a group and invite my members?
Starting a group takes the Group Tier (see Pricing). Open My Groups, set your home course, name your group and choose Create group; you're its owner. Then open Group › Invite and make a join code to share with your members. Joining is always free for them.

Can I look around before I join a group?
Yes. Choose Look around the sample group (Look around first in the app), or pick Sample group from the group list, to open a made-up golf group with a round being played today, past results, a tournament and a group trip. Nothing in it can be changed, and scores you try out there aren't saved. Switch back to your own group, or join one, whenever you're ready.
How do I leave a group?
Go to You › My Groups and choose Leave this group. Your sign-ups for rounds not yet played are withdrawn, and your past results stay with the group. If you rejoin later with the join code, your history comes back with you. A group's owner can't leave their own group.
I can't sign in or I forgot my password.
Use the reset option on the sign-in screen to set a new password. If your account was created for you by a group administrator, they can help you get in. Still stuck? Email us and we'll sort it out.
Running your group
How do I set up our games and schedule a round?
First set up your group's games under Group › Games: the format, skins, where prizes are paid, and team rules. Then open the Schedule, tap New match, and pick the date, start time and game. Sign-up opens right away, and members sign up from their Home screen.

How are teams made for a match?
Choose when you schedule the match: Auto teams (a handicap-balanced draw), Captain draft (captains pick in turn, and you can run the draft from your phone), or Manual. When sign-up closes, tap Pick teams. With Peer play, members choose their own foursome and you record the pairings; the teams are either those foursomes or drawn at random when the round is complete.

How do I send a message or a poll to the group?
Use Group Notification for a message that arrives in the app, as a push notice and by email, and Polls to ask the group a question.

Playing and scoring
How are handicaps and scores calculated?
The app works out course handicaps and results from the scores entered for each round, using your group's settings. These figures are for your group's own play — they are not an official USGA or World Handicap System index and may differ from one.

How does the money work — dues, skins and payouts?
The app records and calculates dues, entry fees, skins and payouts as a running record for your group. It does not collect, hold or move any money — members settle up directly with each other. See our Terms of Service for the details.

What if I have to stop in the middle of a round?
Let your organizer know. When they finish the round, the app lists any missing scores, and they can mark a player or a team as withdrawn (WD) instead of leaving the round open.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Manage your notification preferences inside the app, and control push notifications for your device in its system settings.
Tournaments, trips and rainouts
How do I enter a tournament or a match play event?
Entering is free. When an organizer opens entries you'll get a notice with the event's code; open it, or go to Tournaments and type the code under Enter with a code. For a team event, pick your partner from the list of golfers on GGA. The organizer can also enter you themselves.

How do I run a tournament or a match play event?
Organizers on the Group Tier open Tournaments and tap Organize a tournament, then choose a stroke play or team tournament (including scrambles) or a match play bracket. Set it up, open entries, and invite your players.

What is a group trip, or an unofficial event?
A trip away from your home course: one to fourteen days at any course, with sign-ups, a player limit and sign-up dates set by the organizer. Each day has its own game, and there can be an overall prize and skins across the whole trip. It's marked unofficial because nothing from it counts toward your group's handicaps, stats, records or funds. Any member can sign up; no subscription is needed.
What happens when a round is rained out?
The organizer marks it Rained out, and the group is told. Any money already settled for that round is reversed. For a tournament, the organizer can call off the whole event or just the rounds from the rain on, and the app lists the entry fees to refund. A rainout can be undone if the weather clears.
Plans and golf courses
Which plan do I need?
Playing is free: joining groups, keeping score, entering tournaments and seeing results. Player Tier adds side bets, one-off matches, shot tracking and your own reports. Group Tier is for organizers who run a group, its tournaments and trips. Course Tier is for golf courses running several groups, Club Championships and their staff. See Pricing for the full list.

How do I find golf courses and groups near me?
Use Find a course: enter your zip code to see nearby courses on a map, which ones use Golf Group Admin, and where groups already play. Organizers can choose whether their group is listed there in the group's settings.
A course on the map has closed. How do I tell you?
Choose Has it closed? next to the course on Find a course and send a short note. We check every report and take closed courses off the map.
